I am the brother of the man that was killed on Nov. 16 2009. I used to live in Savannah when I was younger and even then the roads were dangerous and pedestrians either took chances or were not clearly aware of traffic.

My problem with Cities such as Savannah is the fact that pedestrian traffic is not factored in and the placement of crosswalks is areas where there are spread out leads to people taking chances. The area of Abercorn that the incident too place was not well lit except for where the crosswalk is. Six lanes of potential traffic. The rules and requirements for large thruways such as this needs to be examined when so close to populated areas. There should have at least been a concrete divider in the median and more lighting based on the size. My brother had recently moved there to stay with another brother and the stay was to be temporary. He made a mistake and paid for it on top of the mistakes of others. Aren't all mishaps such as this based on the same critieria?
