		<description>I agree with all your points.  I&#039;ve attempted to be a pedestrian in the commercial areas of the Southside and have given it up as a hazardous undertaking.  Sometimes you can&#039;t even cross the street at a crosswalk with a walk signal because motorists making a right turn on red don&#039;t seem to be able to recognize the presence of a pedestrian.  Confronted with situations like this, I&#039;ve often thought it might be safer to jaywalk.  Downtown is the only pedestrian friendly area in town, or at least it used to be before the current crackdown.</description>
