- seth: I WISH whole foods would come downtown! Considering median earnings, tho, I doubt it.
- Laura: Maybe Whole Foods will come in… or something similar. Although, they might have to revisit their pricing strategy… they’re not nicknamed Whole Paycheck for nothing. But if they could bring more local, healthy products in, at reasonable cost, seems like it would be kind of...
- Sabina Cushing: …Well even as of 2012, Savannah has NOT gotten it’s ducks in a row at all. What a joke! No business recycling? Styrofoam galore? Waste management is certainly not very managed to this day. Let’s get some other people in office. It’s about time – the...
- Pat Beichler: Dear Sandra, Looks like you are doing the right thing. Thought you or your friends might be interested in a Sustainable Farming Seminar. The Daufuskie Community Farm on Daufuskie Island, SC is presenting a one day seminar on December 7th, 9th, and 13th. If you know of anyone or any...
- Alix Michele: Good evening, My name is Alix and I am a graduate student in the Design for Sustainability program at SCAD. I am currently working on my MA Final Project with Scott Boylston’s class and my project is based around creating a plastic bag reduction within the city of Savannah....
- Laura McLeod: Good to know those 159m plastic bags won’t be added to the great patch o’ plastic in the Pacific, or impacting birds and wildlife. And that 80,000 of unordered cases of plastic bags is a pretty impressive number, too. Here in Seattle, we’re almost OCD about...
- michael maddox: We have put up a modular sustainably built house called the Ihouse, on the farm and the owner is living in it. It is made by Clayton Homes. Check out my website www.greenbridgefarm.com for more pics and info. My farm community is 25 miles from Savannah!
- michael maddox: Green Bridge Update: I have two lots under contract and construction on both sites has begun. Both lots were partially cleared using an earth friendly device called a gyrotrac. One owner will be installing a recycled concrete driveway on his lot this coming weekend. Check out my...

Since I have the best day job in the world (in addition to the best freelance job in the world, lucky me), I was actually out yesterday working booths in both Statesboro and Hinesville. I spread the Earth Day love all over the Georgia coastal region.
Funniest thing I came across, you ask? I loved that Hinesville’s impression of Earth Day involved booths for exterminator companies and earth moving equipment. And then there was the booth where you could paint a dead fish and then put the impression on a t-shirt. Seriously. Ponder that.
