From Ryan Patterson at Greenpeace comes word of an event planned for this Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Johnson Square from Step it Up is part of a nationwide Day of Action on Global Warming. Greenpeace, along with Green Lifespace and SCAD’s Project Green will urge leaders to “Step it Up” on climate solutions. According to Patterson:
“On Nov. 3, Americans will demand real leadership on global warming. From coast to coast, people will rally in our communities and invite our politicians to join us.
Two speakers at noon will call on our leaders to step it up and support solutions to global warming. One speaker will call on Rep. Barrow to be a leader, because he has refused to vote for global warming solutions in Congress.
The second ‘Step it Up’ is an occasion to see who has a real plan to tackle the defining challenge of our time. One year before the election, we have to make sure the world witnesses our national call to action: ‘Step it up!’ It’s time for climate leaders!”
