Greenpeace Global Warming Tour at Starland Farmers Market

Posted by on October 9, 2008

On Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. -noon Greenpeace will bring its Global Warming tour to the Starland Farmers Market. The tour will interview community members about how global warming is impacting their lives and what they are doing to fight it. The stop is part of a nationwide tour that gives Americans an opportunity to show their commitment to ending the crisis and demand action from Congress.
The tour is powered by the Rolling Sunlight, a demonstration and educational vehicle that runs on biodiesel and is equipped with 256-square-feet of solar panels that supply enough energy to power three homes, concerts, and events without creating any pollution. The solar power runs an action tent with video station and computers wired to the Internet so visitors can record their stories and send their messages to Congress by video or email.

The Starland Farmers Market is a not-for-profit community event where local farmers and artists come to sell their locally grown fruits and veggies, arts and crafts directly to the community in a lively, open-air setting.
